  1. Extreme sports athlete and adventure sports personality Tim Emmett is coming to Sheffield next Tuesday 31st March. A world leader in both rock and ice-climbing and a pioneer of Deep Water Soloing (free climbing a cliff above water). In the last couple of years, Tim has become known for his ‘Para Alpinism’ – climbing a big mountain and then B.A.S.E jumping off in a wing-suit, flying to the ground reaching speeds of up to 250 MPH with absolutely no petrol or CO2 emissions! He's a proper nutter - check Out His Video Here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=19fg2Zsg-uo In ‘Extreme High’ Tim will be talking about his incredible life, giving the audience an insight into the mindset of a highly motivated, and dedicated extreme sports athlete. A seasoned motivational speaker, Tim’s talks are as energy-charged as his life, using video footage, sound effects and images to provide a dramatic backdrop to his gripping stories. 2. What's happening this Friday? The Mrs is away so I'm out to play! I want some quality dance music but heard Plug's shut this Friday?!
  3. What's On For Clubbing This Weekend? Got a pass out and what to hit town - any good house nights on?
  4. I'm going next Saturday... for the Stanton Warriors and Justin Robertson... it's the Boutique night which I think is the best thing Bed do... can't say I'd be interested in going to a Hed Kandi night... but I'm just not really into 'Funky (yawn) House' anymore...
  5. Well afraid to disappoint after making such a fuss myself... but I'm actually going to go to Bed.. a nightclub! but there's two out of the very few DJs I would acutally make an effort to go and see, both playing on the same night... so there you go...
  6. Rafters is I think the best food I've ever eaten - I love the place... tried Thyme a couple of weeks ago and didn't really think it was that amazing, didn't really like the atmosphere and furnishings, but we had possibly the worst table there, squashed into the corner, I could see nothing of the place apart from a glimpse of the kitchens and felt very claustrophobic (sp?)... Rafters in my opinion is a really special experience...
  7. Strange - thought I posted a big reply to this but it hasn't shown up.... ah well I was saying that I like places like Canal St in manchester (although I'm looking through rose tinted classes at this - circa 1994) where there's cool people and a good relaxed atmosphere - my favourite bar was right at the end of Canal St and was a bit of a club / bar hybrid, with lots of seated areas but also a dancefloor... in Sheffield I like places that are a bit different - The West End pub by the Uni and The Lescar... but they're just pubs and are a bit boring for a really good night out... the dogs would have been excellent (apart from price) cos there's entertainment as well as eating and importantly.. drinking. I really don't want to go to a packed city centre bar full of ****heads...
  8. Has anyone got any suggestions... I want to go out with a group of friends for my Birthday... somewhere entertaining, preferably closing later than 11.30... but I don't want to go to a club as there's nowhere I'd want to go (apart from maybe Hotpants as it's not really a nightclub)... was thinking of going to Owlerton to dog races for a meal, etc but it's fully booked (and over £20 per head, and you have to dress 'smartly').... hmmm... give me leeds or Manchester any day.... so any suggestions?
