Is Southey Green, Dryden Rd A Good Place To Live?
MJM68 replied to Adel19's topic in Sheffield Property & Housing
Sorry I can't help on those 2 areas as I only relocated to Sheffield a few months ago myself but I had a look on the crimerate.co.uk website before choosing an area to move to. There is obviously crime everywhere but a large amount of anti social behaviour, arson, bulglary, etc raises alarm bells. Also have a drive around at different times of day if you can. -
Relocating To Sheffield - Where's Good?
MJM68 replied to sportbilly1701's topic in Sheffield Property & Housing
I recently relocated from Berkshire to Chapeltown. It's not on the Supertram but it has a station, with direct trains to Meadowhall, Sheffield, Huddersfield and Leeds. It's also very accessible for the M1. I'm on the south side of Chapeltown, toward Ecclesfield and I feel safe here. I believe the local schools are good too but my kids are uni age so this wasn't a priority for me. -

Thank you. I'll be looking for a 2 or 3 bed with a max budget of £250K. Thank you. That's reassuring. I hoped that would be the case but I have lived in a couple of places previously where I've been subjected to abuse in the street so a little wary of new areas. -
Hello everyone, I know these sorts of questions are very subjective but I am hoping to relocate from the South East to Sheffield and I'm looking for advice on areas. My wish list is for green spaces for dog walking/hiking but also amenities such as local shops, lesiure centres, reasonable broadband as I will be working from home and good transport links. On paper Chapeltown ticks all my boxes but as a single woman of colour, feeling safe, both in my home and when out and about is a high priority. I've seen some older posts suggesting I may be better off avoiding High Green but Chapeltown seems to be generally recommended. Is this still the case and are there any areas I should definitely avoid? Thanks so much.
