Hi, We're not desperate for players but could do with some more who are particularly looking to play saturdays for our new 2nd team next year. I am sure we can get you a game on either Wednesday, Sat or Sunday if you want to join just get in touch. For those of you not wanting to go through the previous posts the club is Sheffield Transport who play at meadowhead and we have Junior teams - Boys, Girls and mixed teams. Players tend to be around 8yo+ Adults - Mens Wed, Sat/Sunday teams and a Ladies team playing occassional matches.

If anyone is looking to set one of these groups not in the city centre, Sheffield Transport Club at Meadowhead S8 hire a small meeting room out for £10 for the night. Ring Caroline on 2374130 if no answer leave a message.

Just to apologise to those who couldn't get through saturday I was in the depths of Derbyshire which obviously had no connection by the sounds of it. Glad to here people enjoyed it and the change of set up . Thankyou to all the buyers and sellers who supported the 2 days. We are a Sports Club and running on a Sunday competing with Arena, Bowshaw and Marsh Lane would probably prove impractical however as Steelhead says we'll probably look again to Bank Holidays but will be reviewing over the coming months. I just wondered if there are any evening Car Boots say a Thursday Night? Would people be interested in buying/selling?

Just to let you know the teen car wash was the girls cricket club raising a bit of extra money for the team, they are the only girls cricket team at under 15 level in South Yorkshire in a league having to play against boys and have had to enter a team playing in a ladies league to play against women that plays mainly in West Yorkshire! I suspect the foot fall was good and that was why some people couldn't get near to booters rather than the layout around the edge which sellers have said they prefer as it gives them more space. There were less sellers than last year possibly as held on a Bank Holiday Monday and not a Sunday so the buyers would have been less spread out. If sales of pitches carry on at the current rate there will be more sellers this Monday 2nd. We will discuss comments Tickets will again be available behind the bar mid week nights. Friday (after 1700) & Saturday+Sunday (from 1200) until pitches sold £8 pre book or £10 on day if spaces left.

Cost £8 in advance no large vans. First come first served, limited 100 booters. Car parking £1. Tickets for pitches sold at the bar or patio area at the sports club. Please have the registration details of the vehicle you will be using on the car boot sale.

0930 is the buyers time Jen at Sheffield Transport both April 25th and May 2nd. If the weather is fine it should be one of the flattest walks for a car boot with a nice bar open from 1000 and use of the sports club toilets.

Bren, Mark see you sunday. Drive in the school entrance the entrance is at the back of the building (side you park on) just follow the building down eventually there is a door that's open. Through there and turn right and follow the corridor down to the end, thats the sports hall. Cheers John

Cricket nets from March 6th to April 3rd inclusive. Sundays 1700-1800 at Springs Academy, cost £3. Sheffield Transport are happy for new players to turn up, please just let us know in advance if you are thinking of turning up. People who have not played cricket for a while are welcome. We have 2 sunday teams and 1 saturday team and are looking for players particularly for the Mansfield league bottom division.

Sounds like you'll top our batting averages then Saggy. If you do want to move I'll need to get you transfered with a transfer form if you played for a sat or sunday league team last year, so when you can make it to a net I'll bring a form along which your previous club will need to sign and I have to submit to the league etc. Nets in February are 1700 - 1830. We're looking to try and get Sunday nets in March. Will keep in touch. Anyone else who has expressed an interest feel free to turn up 3 new people in addition to usual players turned up last week.
