enjoyed many fringe events - bath hotel, frog and parrot, shakies and Cads friday plus the moor, everly pregnant brothers (wow what a crowd in the rain at fat cat) and then leopold square saturday. didnt make any sunday but would agree a great buzz in the city and long may it continue!

im looking forward to giving the Old workshop a go very soon.
i think we have loads of good pubs offering good beer in the city centre and kelham island / neepsend
city centre ; museum, head of steam, bath hotel, frog and parrot, great gatsby (always has a couple of pumps on), tap and tankard, bessemer (cheap and has real ale on), red deer, doctors orders, harley, forum, old house, devo cat plus usual wetherspoons and lloyds bar, fagans, dog and partridge, grapes, uni arms, green room (has good barnsley bitter on), sheffield tap, globe, rutland arms, roebuck, .- plus sure ive missed some
kelham island; riverside, harlequin, shakespeare, kelham island tav, wellington, fat cat, ship, gardeners rest, old workshop and again probably missed some
lets be positive guys - plenty to go at and i shall be visiting many over tramlines weekend for the beer and music
-
yes my mistake - meant building next to City Hall behind Waterworks (lloyds) bar - same question though anyone know what has happened to the development as it seems to have stalled?
-
What has happened to the development at the old NUM building next to the town hall - nothing seems to have progressed for weeks - Pitcher and Piano bar sign still there and i think the caribbean restaurant was also agreed finally by the council after the 'food being carried upstairs debacle' but the diggers have been idle for weeks - anyone any ideas why the delay?
-
went in over weekend as is now reopened - nowhere near as good beer choice but was ok - Bradfield blonde, deuchars ipa and couple by pendle witch (guess choice restricted now Punch Taverns running) but hopefully it will improve - needs a stout on and 5 diff beers not 3 - but at least is reopen - fair crowd in the night i called but was cash only (think landlord said machine on the way)
-
great day, good beer choice, food & music - well done andy c and colleagues - firm favourite in the calendar now - even had a greeting from the mayor on arriving at dronfield station just after noon !
-
not yet - i heard a few interested parties but a few worries re fact that HSBC will empty Griffin House in mid 2019 and that could impact trade - no dates yet i dont think but hoping someone takes even on a short lease soon
-
any news on 3 Tuns reopen date
-
Anyone any idea when this excellent pub will re-open - i am missing it badly!
-
Shame re Hop - I liked it - food was good when did the Pie/Pint specials at the start - BBQ collective food ruined it imo - great for tramlines weekend at outside bar listening to bands on Devo green (which is back for this year - hooray) - other than Bath (which is great) and Red Deer then West st is struggling now with Swim Inn and Anchorage going too.
I still think best ale run in townish is Museum, Grapes, Fagans, Three Tuns, Shakey, new Barstewards bar, Wellington, Ship Inn, KIT, Fat Cat, Riverside and Harlequin - great to keep fit in between especially if add Gardeners in too. Would still do Tap and Tankard, Benjamin Huntsman, Lloyds, Gatsby, Frog & Parrot and Devo Cat (although not overly keen on new look) run but shame Hop gone now.
-
Old Crown at Handsworth serves real ale - normally from either kelham island or bradfield - 2 or 3 on usually - Sword dancer has some on too but is more an eatery - real ale better in Old Crown
-
too many to choose from but if pushed would go Three Tuns (a hidden gem), Shakespeare and Bath Hotel for top 3 with Tap, Head of Steam, Sheffield Waterworks (best Wetherspoons i think), Museum, Devo Cat (but im not keen on new look tbh) and Old Crown at Handsworth (near me)
-
enjoyed Tramlines as usual - highlights for me were bands at Bath Hotel (great venue), Hop Bar, shakespeare, leopold square and CADs. Did think less people out despite great weather and why oh why was there no Devonshire green stage - daft decision to move into O2 - meant division st lost some atmosphere and police made daft decision not to close much of the road - silly. But not to end on a negative roll on next year (with Devonshire green stage back please)
-
seems tramlines organisers have made a late decision to move the planned Devo green stage into the O2 academy citing need some under cover venue! i thought festivals were meant to be outdoors - Somehow Tramlines wont seem the same this year with nothing at all on Devo green - poor decision in my view
-
went yesterday - great day out - well done for organising Andy C and team - loads of people but not unexpected given the weather - staffing was a touch of an issue in a few places but doubt they expected so many numbers - must have been 250 got off 1205 train from sheffield that i and party were on just for starters - highlights for me were dronfield arms, three tuns and coach and horses with green dragon close follower. Well done all and a well established festival now - good job by bus crews too
-
went too on opening night - good bar - agree food is good - had chips with sauce and chorizo mix for £6 - more than enough for two - mostly camerons beer on tap but was ok - cheapest was £3.30 i think - will make money in next 2 weeks whilst snooker on as loads better than crucible corner place
NUM Building development - Turtle Bay etc

some people were back working on this on Thursday but to be honest it looks a million miles away from being ready - cant see it before next summer being honest at the slow pace they are moving at - not sure what the slowness is down to - money issues?
