Synthetic club night that is on tomorrow night (fri 16th May) at the Raynor Lounge - venue is inside the Sheffield Uni SU, but non-students are welcome apparantly - in fact when I've been before it's largely been non-students. Really friendly night, great music if you like Human League, Depeche Mode etc. plus some newer electropop stuff. There's more info at http://www.syntheticsheffield.co.uk

Yes - it definitely does, always in early/mid May - the 2008 date is not listed yet, but if you check http://www.offbeatsheffield.com in the next few months I'm sure it will be up soon...

My fave indie night, Offbeat, is having it's 10th birthday celebrations tomorrow, which got me curious; is this Sheffield's longest continuously running club night, or at least the continuously running in the same venue? There must be the odd 'nightlife historian' on here...

Anyone going to Size of a Cow this Friday at the Uni'? Went last year and it was good mix of old and new indie tuneage

...can't usually make this cos' it's normally on a Friday, but for some reason it is on a Saturday this week - anyone else going? It's held at Shef Uni Raynor Lounge, and plays an interesting and unpredictable mix of past and present indie. past playlists at offbeatsheffield.com give the general idea

Just like the buses; nothing for ages then 2 at once: Human League are playing The City Hall this Thursday. And apparantly there are still tickets left!
