  1. Does nobody live nearby? There's nothing better than local knowledge usually.
  2. Hi all, thinking of moving to the Woodthorpe area and interested in opinions on the general feel of the area.
  3. Thanks for that Evei, It's a relief to have some recommendations to work with. Since I last posted the situation has gone down hill with Sid's first aggressive incident towards a person where he didn't stop at barking, but actually lunged and bit the sleeve of someone's coat. Luckily he missed their arm or hand. Consequently I will be ringing Keith today, as he seems to have more of an interest in the reactive aggression. Thanks again Evie, your input has been much appreciated. :-) I will definitely come back with an update as to how we get on, as we have found it very difficult ourselves to seek out a reputable trainer and will be more than happy to spread the word if it can help anyone else.
  4. Hi Evei, Thanks for the reply. We had a very young lady who claimed to be a dog whisperer and charged a hundred pounds to sit on the sofa for an hour telling us we need to establish dominance and then left. No response to follow up emails so a fat waste of money. We've had a local guy come in from an obedience class who tried for a couple of hours to to control Sid, but the issue is not control - the issues are much deeper than that. Would you mind me asking which trainer or technique you found helpful Evie? Sorry for the late reply by the way. I was accessing the forum on a Kindle but for some reason this forum crashes the Silk browser every time I've tried to reply so had to resort to the mobile. :-)
  5. Hi all, Not posted here before, so sorry for jumping straight in with a question. We are looking for a dog behaviourist who specialises in manic dogs who are very reactive to other dogs, people, disability scooters, bikes, children, anything furry or feathery or leathery...well just about everything that has the ability to move. Have tried a couple of dog trainers before to no great benefit so really looking for someone with specific experience in this kind of issue. Many thanks for any help and suggestions.
