Hi all, Sorry to restart this thread again, but I was wondering if anyone would be able to give my some insight into what Aston is like as a place to live. We have seen a house that we really like but are a bit unsure about what the area is like. We are now both working in Sheffield but have seen that public transport is ok from Aston to Sheffield. Thanks for the replies everyone. Mosborough and Beighton I think are our preffered choices although we also like the newish housing estate near Donetsk tram stop. Which is classed as Hackenthorpe.

Viewing a property in that area tomorrow so fingers crossed.

Thanks for all the replies everyone and I would echo the point about Sheffielders being friendly and helpful. We are currently renting a property in the Abbeydale road south area but cannot afford to buy in this area or in Netheredge, which is why we are considering Mosborough.

The property we are looking at is on Norton Lane set back from the parkway. It seems ok, but will take your advice and check it out at various times of the day. Thanks for the advice everyone. I really appreciate it. We have been in Sheffield for three months now and feel like we are ready to buy. It's just a question of choosing the right area which this website is really helping us with. I quite like Treeton but my partner doesn't, so it looks like it's back to the drawing board again. We are viewing three properties tomorrow in Norton, Beighton and Mosborough.

Hi all, We are still looking at buying a house in the area. We have seen a couple of houses in the Beaumont Park area of Treeton. Does anyone know if this is a good area?

The first month in Sheffield has been great thank you. It seems like a very friendly city and I'm very impressed with the public transport here, although I sure some people may disagree. I didn't realise how easy it is to get to different parts of the country from here. My job involves a fair bit of travelling and it's pleasing to see that you can get direct trains from Sheffield to pretty much any where in the country. We are settling in quite well, although it may take us sometime to get used to all the pot holes in the road... Hi all, I have now been here for over a month and have started looking at a place to buy before our tenancy runs out. We are considering Greonside. Can anyone tell me if Creswick Lane opposite Yewlands school is a decent area?

I have been here for a couple of months now and am gradually getting used to the place. We decided to move to the south west of the city which is convenient for work. Have a read through the thread as there is some helpful information about nice places to live all over the city. Without this website and the helpful nature of it's members I would have been completely lost. Where are you moving from if you don't mind me asking?
