There will be lots of sports and supercars on display as well as the opportunity to go for passenger rides in a number of cars. 6. Glad you enjoyed it Dan, thanks for coming along. It was a fun - if somewhat hectic day (best laid plans, and all that ). Hoping to return again next year, we are just discussing how we can improve the event in future years if we hold another one - any feedback appreciated. Paul. A few pics here if anyone would like to view details of the day http://www.supercardriver.com/forum/content.php?232-Supercars-in-the-City-Sheffield
  7. Just a couple of days to go now folks and we are finalising the parking plans. 9. Hi all, Supercars in the City event will be returning again this year to Sheffield city centre! A number of high performance sports and supercars will be on display in Sheffield City centre throughout the day. There will be a rolling convoy of all the cars entering the city if you want to see/hear them all driving through the streets. The cars will then park up in the city centre to get a closer look at the cars. There will be an opportunity to passenger ride in a number of cars on the day for a donation to charity. The event is organised to raise money and awareness of the local Bluebell Wood Childrens hospice, a hugely worthwhile charity-funded organisation who offer care and support to children with a shortened life expectancy. All monies raised on the day will go directly to the charity. If you or your family are a petrol head, you won't want to miss this!! Saturday 27th July 2013. More details to follow soon, but heres a few piccies of last year... http://www.supercarsinthecity.com Any questions, let me know - hope to see you there!! Paul.
  10. Hi everyone, just wanted to let you know that we managed to raise in excess of £2,500 on the day for Bluebell Wood. We are hugely pleased with this amount and thank you all for coming along to support the event. The photos and videos are being updated on the website as I get new batches through and I'll write an event report as well to put on the site soon. We are looking to plan another of these events next year, so keep your eyes peeled. http://www.supercarsinthecity.com
  11. Hi all, Thanks for the feedback, it is very much appreciated and glad you enjoyed the show! re: the publicising/advertising, we didn't publicise hugely as this was our first attempt at a public show and we didn't want to over promise and under deliver. Keeping it smaller and managable ensured that we can learn from any mistakes, see the reaction and determine if we should look to do another one in future. This is a comment that we've had a few times though, so will certainly do something about that if we do another one! Thanks for all the compliments too! Re: the critism on signage for the passenger rides this has been noted for future and is definately an area we can improve on. Re: Photos, if you have some but don't know how to upload, email to me at [email protected] and I'll put them on our website in the next week. Thanks again folks - the event was really well attended and everyone seemed to enjoy it. The final tally for Bluebell is still to be counted, but it is in excess of £1,000. Any more comments, feedback, praise (we like praise! ) or constructive critisim appreciated - we are listening and taking note. Cheers! Paul.
  12. Hi all, The convoy routes for the two separate displays are now on the website (http://www.supercarsinthecity.com), click on location. Nearest car park info is on the news section. In addition to the displays, at 1pm we will be having a "rev-off", with 5-10 of the cars giving it some beans. If you want to hear just how loud some of these cars are (and believe me, they are LOUD!), make sure you are at Barkers pool just before 1pm as it'll only last a couple of minutes. My personal favourite is the Ferrari 430 Scuderia!!
  13. Hi Mintchok, Yes, children from ages 6 and above can go for a ride in the cars. If they are too small for a standard seat, there will be booster seats on the day too.
  14. Hi all, The parking plan is in the process of being finalised, and we can confirm there will be displays in the Barkers Pool area, and Tudor Square. Barkers pool will feature some of the very latest exotica from Ferrari, Lotus, Porsche, Aston-Martin and Bentley contrasting with some classic rally legends and luxury speed machines from BMW and Mercedes. Tudor Square is where you will find a lineup of Ferrari’s from old to knew, a host of Porsche 911′s , McLaren’s, and a range of other Italian (and miscellanous!) exotica. At the top of Tudor sqaure you will find Supercar Experiences, who will be pleased to give you information on their range of on-the-road driving experiences in a number of different Supercars. To the bottom of Tudor square, next to the crubile will be our Dream Rides, providing passenger ride experiences in aid of BlueBell Wood childrens hospice. There will be 15 cars to choose from… from Classic to modern to mental, so there should be something for everyone to enjoy! The convoy route will be published soon if you want to see/hear/take photos or video the cars on the roads! http://www.supercarsinthecity.com
  15. Hi all, We are starting to upload some of the promo shots featuring a few of the cars that will be there on the day. Keep checking the website for more pictures. We'll make them available as wallpapers too shortly if you'd like them as your backdrop. Cheers! Paul.
  16. Hi all, Want to drive one? We are pleased to announce that a local Supercar rental company will also be attending on the day. They will be bringing a couple of their exotic cars to display and their staff will be available to give you more information on the cars available to rent. So, after a fun filled day looking and passengering in some of the worlds favourite car Marques, if you fancy getting behind the wheel at a later date you'll know exactly who to speak to! Fancy being a journalist for the day? If anyone would like to write about their experiences of the day (e.g. if you go out for passenger rides, your experience of the cars - or perhaps just what you thought of the event etc), we'll add as many reports as we can on the Supercars in the City website. Our favourite report will also be printed in a local Supercar owners club magazine, and you'll receive a copy - so don't forget to take pictures! Hope to see you there! Paul.
  17. That worked. I'm sure we'll be able to help you tick a few of those. Not entirely sure about number 25 on your list though...
  18. Hi BlueDragon - you can have a go in as many cars as there is time for, subject to donations for each one. The cars available to passenger ride in will be published closer to the time. The link you posted didn't work, but if you can relink or post the list on here and we'll see what we can do. If you (or anyone) also fancies writing about their experience of the day, we'll put your reports onto the website for all to read after the event. We'll also print the best ones in a Supercar owners club magazine too.
  19. Hi folks, My name is Paul and I'll be running the Supercars In The City event along with Adam so thought I'd say hello. The website has been set up which we'll keep updated with more information as well as videos of past events and photos in due course. We are still in the process of finalising the location, but it will be in central Sheffield. Insurance, marshalls etc are sorted - lets not try to find reasons to not to do something fun for this great city! The website link is in my signature below ... and we'll keep you updated on here of course too. Cheers! Paul.
