  1. It really depends what mood i'm in.. There are days when i'll have all the time in the world and happily chat the ears off of someone and be sincerely interested in what they have to say and then there are days when i'm so busy, rushing around that i dont even give people eye contact!

I'm a mixture of my mum and dad.. My dad is definitely a people person, he's always jovial and will have a chat to absolutely anybody no matter what time of day or where he is.. My mum on the other hand hates the human race and barely tolerates her own family!!!!

  2. I love aspects of winter, I love being cosy in big jumpers and coats and getting under my thick duvet with a hot water bottle, clear, sunny, frosty weather and snow is lovely (if you keep warm) but the rain is pretty miserable when it starts.

Another natural redhead here, I hate the hot weather it makes me feel ill, cooler is better :)

    Yaye

What's your melting temp? Mines about 24 degrees :hihi:

  3. I was just wondering if anybody else likes winter?

We have a woodburner that becomes an ornament in the summer months.

Personally I love having a glass of mulled wine and some roasted chestnuts infront of a woodburner.

I love summer too, I just think that I like the difference of seasons here in England.

ps it's not a christmas thing because I am working it all this year. :(

I absolutely love winter.. I too have a log burner and love nothing more than getting home after a long day at work, chucking a few logs on, have a bubble bath, get comfy in my pj's and fluffy dressing gown, pour myself a glass of red, light my candles and snuggle up to watch a film..

Then again i am a red head and covered in freckles so summer is my least favourite season.. I do love Spring though.

Any ''celebrity'' from TOWIE and MIC.....

  5. With less authority than a Doctor I suspect.

We have an obesity epidemic, it's not all caused by anxiety, it's mostly caused by overeating.

Yes i know, what i'm trying to say is fat shaming isn't nice neither is pointing out to a skinny person they need to eat a pie!

Be kind - you don't know everyone's reasons and what people are going through

NB that's not aimed at you in particular Cyclone, just a general suggestion :)

  6. It should be perfectly acceptable for a health professional to comment on someone's weight, be that too heavy or too light, with regards to health.

Whilst i agree, not all health professionals get to the underlying cause of someones weight issue - just telling someone they need to shift weight or gain weight isnt good enough if that person is suffering from an anxiety disorder.. In some cases, treating the anxiety first is more important and the healthier lifestyle will follow..

  7. Me too. I've been out with ladies of many sizes in my time.

But, this may be for another thread, how far do we take the love for bigger people before it starts becoming dangerous for someone's health?

I was 21st at my heaviest and hated it in the end as I got sick of being out of breath all the time and generally feeling rubbish. So, I lost weight. However, it's now socially unacceptable to 'fat-shame', that is to comment on someone's size if it's anything other than complimentary. But, there is enough medical evidence to show the health implications that being plus-size/overweight/fat can cause. Despite this, some medical professionals have been slammed for fat-shaming by advising overweight patients to lose weight for their own good.

The other side of the coin is anorexia which is frowned upon, and the 'Size 0' models for promoting unhealthy lifestyle choices and impossible body image goals in young people. Surely being too big or too small is bad for your health. So why is one socially acceptable and the other not?

Both sides of the extreme are generally caused by an anxiety disorder - this isnt something that can just be switched off and people can't just snap out of it.. Unfortunately most ''normal'' people dont know the complexity of Anxiety disorders and just see FAT/SKINNY..

There's more going on than just the love of starving ones self or being a glutonous pig.. BUT to answer your question, i think being overweight is more acceptable because most people at some point will have been heavier than they would have liked to have been, and most people can have a quick health kick and get back to a more comfortable weight, however anorexia sufferers are sometimes seen as obsessed with their looks, so much so that they will starve themselves to death - this isn't true!

I think more should be put into learning about the Anxiety disorder itself and helping the sufferers on either side of the coin understand and move forward free from anxiety, one way of doing that is through healthy eating and exercise..

BUT all that said, some folk love an extra portion of pie and end up a bit tubbier than what is healthy for them..

Fat shaming or the likes is not nice and IMO shouldnt be used on either of the sexes..

  8. I came across a piece online recently where some plus-sized women claimed that they would never go out with an overweight man as they're not attractive. Yet, these women claim it's 'fatphobic' not to be attracted to larger ladies.

Is this female empowerment or is it just hypocrisy?

Also, why is it OK for men to be fat/overweight, but disrespectful to women?

I used to be fat, got called all the names under the sun, but i learned to live with it until i lost weight. The reason i did so was purely for health reasons. But, it's just a word that describes someone's size and, although it is often used in a derogatory way, many use it just simply to describe without their being any venom in the statement. So is it OK for women to be 'plus-sized' and men to be 'fat/overweight'?

To put quite simply, women want to help other women feel good so they opt to say things like plus sized, BBW, bubbly etc..

Men like to tear into each other and have a good old laugh at big bobs belly..

Also as someone else sensibly put - plus size is a term used for clothing just like XXL/XXXL is used for men.. The term fat isnt going to sell much clobber is it..

In regards to what you find attractive that is each to their own.. Me personally, i have had relations with fat / thin / bald / hairy - all of which i fancied the pants off...

  9. It could be absolutely nothing..

It happened at my mums work last year, they always get paid on the last thursday of the month except in december but last year they decided to pay them the same as the rest of the year..

Going back a few years now but i used to get paid on the last day of the month and then we got a new accounts manager who decided to pay us all on the 15th of the month..

Suppose it happens more than you know and doesnt neccessarily mean DOOM :)

Mind you, saying that i suppose it could upset a few things if you'd planned to do most of your xmas shop out of your decembers wage thinking you were getting before xmas day and now you're not! That's a bit rubbish..

  10. No i'm not Asian and neither was the workman. The worker was a from a company that I won't name but he was carrying out work on behalf of Keepmoat who are doing work for sheffield homes. I can take a joke but I personally know someone who has been affected by the terrorists so it is something that I won't tolerate as it is a matter close to my heart.

You say in your opening post that you were made to feel like you made a big deal over nothing - but you are now saying you wont tolerate it as its a matter close to your heart so it isnt nothing is it..
