  1. People should be able to wear what they want to wear whenever they want to wear it, they should be able to have their hair however they want to have their hair whenever they want to have it like that..

It shouldn't matter what someone does as long as they are not hurting anybody else or being blatantly disrespectful.

If a white woman wants to have her hair dyed black and put in braids, let her. and if a black woman wants to dye her hair blonde and have it straightened, let her..

I just don't see how these things can effect peoples day to day lives and I cant believe so much attention is being given to it in the media!!

If people are so sensitive that an item of clothing or a hairstyle upsets them then maybe they need an extra cuddle from their friends and loved ones.. I'm sure the planet will keep on turning on its axis and life will go on..

  2. A failed singer / song writer, now anti-capitalist. He is an expert on stones. Oh, and an expert on circles.

    Very useful.

But then I'm an expert on pebbles. Oh, and irregular shapes.

I pebble dashed my own house.

    He didn't.

    Eeeeeeewwwwwww :gag:

  3. Awww them poor little birdies :(

I have two dogs, one who is always off the lead and one who is NEVER off the lead because I don't trust him!!!! It really is down to the owners to be responsible whilst walking their dogs, if you are unsure how your dog will react then keep it on the lead..

However that being said, I was out walking with my springer spaniel on the Yorkshire moors when she was a puppy and it didn't dawn on me at that time that she would have the natural instinct to flush birds and this one day she was off like a shot!!! I was screaming and shouting at her (luckily no one else was around to hear me screeching like a mad woman) and it was almost impossible to get her to stop and come back to me but when she did come back she was holding in her mouth a baby bird which she gently put down on the ground at my feet.. It didn't appear to have any injuries and it got up and waddled off back into the heather..

This was a lesson for me and I learned from it so maybe this incident could have been a first for the owner of this dog and she/he will learn from it so maybe we should put the torches and pitchforks down eh..

  4. I suppose it's a testament to improved public health and public safety, but it is an area that most people aren't particularly aware of (although I've seen it going around on facebook for a few years now, so awareness must be increasing).

I don't know what if any root cause analysis has been done, for example does it disproportionately affect one area of society, does being poor increase the risk, or rich? Does education level affect the risk, or perhaps ethnicity, or even location (rural/urban, north/south, etc)...

    ALL the above..

    Depression does not discriminate..

  5. The suicide rate for young men is appalling and there needs to be more done to help men in need. We need more awareness for mental health issues and remove the stigma around mental health so that men are able to talk through their issues without being judged and get the help they need whether that is medication, therapy or both. It's OK to not be OK..

My count is 2 females, 1 man.

    So sad :(

  6. I’ve had this job for a while now and sometimes it makes me think. What you get a lot of is people going around calling each other “mate”, “pal” or even “matey boy” (???). I was brought up to expect nowt but hi-standards office environment (even though all I do is a bit of admin and clearing the filling cabinets). When did this sort of informal ways of talking to people become the accepted norm? I reckon it was with those types of Channel 4 presenters such as Toby Armistice and Simon Amsel and Sar Pong. Standards have been slipping for years now it seems.

What do you reckon? Is it OK to call someone “mate” even if you never been drinking with them?

    Hahaha hilarious :hihi:

    I do love your posts..

  7. I always buy my books from the store, unless it's something i can't find and have to order it online. Love waterstones, love being surrounded by books, i like the fact that you can sit and stay a while and read. The stores are laid out brilliantly and you are able to find what you're looking for straight away. I also like to browse other books that i wouldnt have thought of buying..

The staff are always lovely and knowledgable and i have LOADS of points on my loyalty card which i always cash in at xmas time to buy books for my mum :)

WHSmiths on the otherhand is shocking!

  8. You mean the idiots on the various FB pages who are also suggesting to storm the hospital, setting off fire alarms in the hospital, holding hostages in the hospital,, asking the Queen to get involved, and starting petitions to get Alder Hey shut down?

    Those people?

I really wouldn't listen to a word they say.

Thugs is the right terminology me thinks..

I can't believe what they are doing and how they are behaving in a hospital FULL of sick and dying children!! The poor parents of the other children having to deal with this and those poorly babies..

Let them take Alfie home and get those demented thugs away from that hospital. Disgraceful behaviour!

  9. ...probably shift them into a residential street where they can annoy all the neighbours instead.

At least when Charlie Gard left hospital and went to a hospice the parents did it with some dignity: nobody knew where the hospice was, or indeed the funeral for that matter.

Do you really think the same will happen here? The dad will be Facebook streaming the funeral

    It's all so grotesque.

  10. Thank you :)

Most people in Liverpool have convictions for assault or burglary so that’s neither here nor there.

But really, to hear of this Alfie’s Army standing outside the hospital making noise that disrupts other patients (remember, it’s a children’s hospital!) and threatening staff . . . the mentality of these wannabe street thugs is mind-boggling

It's absolutely appalling! Have the police done anything about them?

I feel so sorry for the staff and the other patients and family members..

  11. I'm not sure if this is something everyone experiences or not; I suppose a lot depends on what frustrations you're exposed to in life, and how equipped (mentally) you are to process them (i.e. to clearly understand what's going on, why you're ****** off, and formulate an appropriate response).

It's happened to me a few times, and I know several friends have had the same; when you feel massively overwhelmed and angry and have these irrational impulses to lash out, break stuff, smash your hand in to the door, etc.

It's sheer madness of course, if you do smash your hand, you still have the exact same problem, but now you can enjoy it with a broken hand. Maybe the best strategy sometimes is to do nothing, allow everything to overwhelm you and let things pan out however they will, you're going to die anyway, right? So why struggle?

Hahahaaa my Dad used to do that but with his head! :hihi:

  12. The parents wishes would be taken into account.

Alfie's life support was withdrawn after Mr Justice Hayden ruled doctors could end his care.

This was on Monday and the little trooper is still hanging in there.

Yes but what has that got to do with noble blood?

  13. That poor poor baby, everytime i see a picture or a post about him my heart breaks..

I couldnt imagine being in that position those parents are in.

I dont have the answers, i really dont know how i feel about it but i do hope that sweet little boy is painfree and in peace whether fighting in this life or moving onto the next.

    Such a sad story.

Absolutely agree with you though Emma. It's appalling how the staff are being treated and the idiots that tried to storm the hospital! Do they not realise Alfie isnt the only very sick child in there and their actions would have caused great upset to many other patients and visitors..

  14. And I bet you'd be just dandy with your brother being unable to get a taxi because hes in a wheelchair. Just dont use the taxi service hey it's easy and wait for the next one whenever that is...

Oh wait no - thats not actually that reasonable is it...

We drive him where he wants to go.. OHHHH AND we dont dont kick off if all the disabled spots are taken!!

and again, your comparisons are cringe worthy...

  15. Oh but according to the doyens on here it's my fault I cant read Chinese. Entirely my problem.

I bet if someone pointed out it was someone sfault for being black, or having no legs, or being old there would be a different response...

No Obelix, it isnt your fault (per se) that you can't read chinese (have you even tried to learn mandarin??)

The point we're trying to make is, if you can't read the writing then dont buy the product!! What with all your digestive 'disabilities' you should already know this!

No one is saying it's right, no one is saying there shouldnt be a law protecting ALL people from such ill fates as anaphylaxis BUT you are going overboard by comparing actual disabilities, race, skin pigment, sexuality etc etc etc with you being allowed to eat something!!!!!

I'm probably on his ignore list too so he'll not see this but hey ho :):D

    ---------- Post added 25-04-2018 at 15:25 ----------

He shouldn't have to. Businesses have to jump through hoop after hoop to cater for various needs, regulations and laws - most with little or no consultation - and it all costs money. It ****** me off when not only do businesses flout the law but then it's turned on the consumer as if it's their fault they can't understand ****ing Chinese!!!!!!

You are absolutely right he shouldnt have to! But he's a grown boy and knows there are folk even worse off than him and he gets on with it the best he can with what he's been dealt..

    He's my hero ;)

  16. What happens when your brother faces a load of steps to get into a shop he wants? Just goes elsewhere?

And what if everybody just stopped putting labels on stuff? Is that OK?

He goes where he knows he has access.. He's pretty laid back but i know not everyone is like that.

    ---------- Post added 25-04-2018 at 14:33 ----------

If I ignored everyone who ever disagreed with me on the forum I think I'd be left talking to myself.

    Sometimes you are!!!! :hihi::hihi:
