A collegue at work has been signed off with depression by his GP until 21/02. However he has received a letter fro HR stating that if he does not attend a welfare meeting at work on 14/02 his employment could be terminated.
Does this seem fair to you, an d does the fact that he is in his probationary period still make it easier for them to do this?
Personally I don't see how the worry of losing his job (while legitimately signed off by his GP) will help his recovery!
