Hi Flyer, Thanks for replying. My fathers name was John Walter Major. I think him and his two brothers went in in 1943 when their mother died. His two brothers were taken out by their father at some time but my dad was left in and went to work on a farm at 14 in Hathersage. This leads me to believe my dad was not his real son and his brothers were only his half brothers. I think one the brothers was called George. Any info would be helpful.
