  1. Has anyone else just felt the earth move? There has just been an earthquake in woodseats!
  2. does it!? that would be cool coz ive budgeted paying installments at the end of Feb and end of March. can spend that money on a nice holiday.
  3. I have lived in a house in Sheffield since July and paid council tax from July right through to February. The council tax bill doesn't have any dates after feb 2008. So... I was just wondering when do 2008's payments start? Do next years payments follow on from february?? Ive looked on the sheffield.gov website and it doesnt seem to mention anything about this. Thanks in advance. Phil
  4. I know news programmes sometimes have to scratch the bottom of a barrel to find news reports to fill a news bulletin, but some of the stories on Look North are absolutely ridiculous. I'm astounded that they managed to fill about 2 minutes of air time to report the fact that the tamworth pig that was found by a passer by had died. They showed the conditions at the local sanctuary where he would have lived and reported on the fact that he would have been looked after extremely well. Unbelieveable.
  5. Does anyone know of any van hire companies open on bank holiday mondays. I'm really struggling.
  6. Dear parents, I am a final year student, studying BSc (hons) Business and Technology at Sheffield Hallam University and as part of my final year I have to theoretically set-up a new business, my idea being a bouncy castle hiring service in Sheffield. When setting up any new business, whether it be theoretical or real, primary market research is essential therefore I would be extremely grateful if there are any parents with children between the ages of 3 and 10 who would mind spending 5 minutes to complete a short online questionnaire. All responses are completely confidential and will only be used for academic purposes. If you are interested you can access the questionnaire at the following link: http://www.my3q.com/go.php?url=matthewnewby/inflatablesmiles Many thanks in anticipation of your responses. 7. There's probably another topic very similar to this one, but I thought i'd have a rant anyway. I got assaulted last night in the leadmill by a group of 4 youths who broke my nose and kicked me repeatedly in the head so I called an ambulance which took me to the hospital. I waited 3 - 4 hours to see a doctor even though I was the only person waiting in the reception and when I eventually did get to see a doctor, she did an x-ray (which I was waiting a further hour for) and said - "yes it's broken. Go to the halamshire tomorrow." Great. I thought the customer service there was appalling. It would have been fine if I'd have been told how long I was going to be waiting.
  8. a brilliant website for all those tunes that you hear on adverts is http://www.commercialbreaksandbeats.com you can search by artist or by the company the advert is about.
  9. i've just got through my tickets for kasabian in december and noticed that three of the tickets say entrance through red doors and one says blue doors. Does this mean that one of my mates will be in a different section to the rest of us? Also, on the ticket it says standing. does this mean front or rear standing? any help greatfull appreciated!!
  10. Muse are good.. I cant stand the way he really prounounces the inhaling of air after he sings each line.
  11. Can anyone hear that alarm on pinner road/hunter house road/hunter hill road/guest road? Its been going on all night. Dont think I can take it if it goes on for much longer. What if the occupants of the house are on holiday?
  12. good advice. Being new to the mac scene, Im a little worried about compatibility, but I've been told that the switch to macs is easy and that networking with windows based pc's will be a breeze. I think you'd be daft to surf the net with windows on the mac. Its just asking for trouble. I'm just going to make sure that if I do use windows to use the odd bit of software/play a game, I'll make sure that it can't access my broadband connection.
  13. After spending an evening in the mac shop the other day, I've ordered a brand spanking new 20" imac, 2.0 ghz, 1gb ram, 256mb graphics bad-boy, which arrives on wednesday! cost me just over a grand - helps if you know the right people ;-) The things that you can do and its multi-tasking abilities are awesome. I'll be running os x most of the time and switching to windows using boot camp whenever I want to play a bit of Champ man.
  14. Was thinking about taking the missus out for a meal and wondered what the food was like at Takapuna. How does it compare to similar 'upmarket' bar/restaurant combo's like Crystal (Which I think is very good) Cubana or Iguanas??
  15. my mate's charging 140 quid with fifa soccer....
