Sheffield’sTinsley Marinawill host afree family-friendly open dayonSaturday 15 February (10am-3pm), inviting visitors to explore theSheffield & Tinsley Canaland experience thebenefits of being by the water.
Organised by theCanal & River Trust, the event will showcase arange of activitiessupported byPeople’s Postcode Lottery funding, including:
🌿Arts & Crafts:Create your owncanal sceneand makeduck foodfor younger visitors
🚶Wellbeing Walk:Arelaxing two-hour strollalong the canal towpath, spotting wildlife and meeting new people (booking recommended)
🛶Canoeing Taster Sessions:Try afree instructor-led canoe session(ages 7+) throughout the day (limited drop-in spaces available, pre-booking advised via Eventbrite)
🛠️Canal Conservation:Learn about theTrust’s ongoing repairsatTinsley Lock 12, including lock gate replacements and brickwork restoration
📍Getting There:Due tolimited parking, visitors are encouraged to usepublic transport. The nearestSupertram stop is Carbrook, or it's a15-minute towpath walk from Meadowhall.
