What’s the story?
Join Dick and his loyal cat as they set off on a whirlwind adventure from London to Morocco and back again, in search of fame, fortune, and true love. The glamour, romance, and sparkle of Hollywood’s golden age come to Sheffield as Top Hat the Musical dances into the Lyceum Theatre in a major touring production from Chichester Festival Theatre, presented by Kenny Wax and Jonathan Church Theatre Productions.
Effervescent, elegant, and irresistibly entertaining, Top Hat is the musical equivalent of vintage champagne — filled with witty dialogue, show-stopping choreography, lavish sets, and gorgeous costumes.
A classic love story with mistaken identity
When Broadway star Jerry Travers arrives in London to open a new show, he immediately catches the attention of model Dale Tremont — though not in the way he intended. After Jerry’s tap dancing disrupts Dale’s beauty sleep, romance quickly blossoms… only to be complicated by mistaken identities, jealous spouses, and a fiery Italian admirer with plans for Venice.
Based on the classic 1935 film starring Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers, the stage version delivers timeless comedy and swooning romance in equal measure.
