Book early or last minute holidays..which is best??

Myself and my husband are wanting to go on holiday in August (I am a teacher so can't go any other time). We don't really mind where we go. We would like hot sunny weather, a pool, somewhere quite, with nice restaurants and a Market! But we have never really been abroad so we were wondering what was best to do? Do we book early or get a last minute deal? We know what dates we want to go so what is best? Any advice greatly appreciated!

As you are wanting to travel in August, i strongly recommend you book now. That way you will be able to choose your resort, flight times etc. However, you can get some very good late deals provided you are not too choosy.

Because resorts are so underbooked as not many people are taking holidays there are some great late deals around at the moment. But if you book late do check it out the hotel on tripadvisor.com because sometimes hotels unbooked for late deals are unbooked cos they is rubbish.
