While I'm aware that the speed limit is there as a maximum, this road is atrocious for slow drivers.

 

Many times I see people driving at 40/35 even 30 miles an hour and it's bloody dangerous when the limit is 60 (here's a link to how driving inappropriately slow is a danger http://www.drivingtesttips.biz/minimum-speed-limits-driving-too-slow.html)

 

Please if you aren't comfortable going even near the speed limit at least try to find an alternative route. 50/55 is acceptable on a 60 mph Road but 40 and below is starting to get silly, especially a road like this where it's difficult to overtake.

Yeah love it on Sundays when someone in front inevitably does 30 and like you said not a road you can overtake on.

 

Oddly enough the same people speed up to the 40 mph at the shiregreen end !
