Crooks Murder in the 1930's! Who was it?

Recommended Posts

Hello Everyone!

I am trying to find out details of a murder that took place in Crooks, Sheffield. The details I have are very slim but wondered if someone out there knew anything.

Some facts:

1. The murder was committed in Crooks. The victim was a woman who had been killed by a murder weapon believed to be a poker (not too sure).

2. The main culprit was the woman's husband who worked as a Cobbler. Charges were brought against him but he got off on the basis that there was a time delay in the woman's death and his whereabouts.

3. Dates 1930 - 1940 approx.

Thank you if you can shed any light on matters.
