80s pop legends hit O2 Academy for charity gig

The Roxy returns for one night only! The clock will turn back to the heyday of Roxy Disco for one very special event, making it time to dig out your leg warmers, dust off your shoulder pads and re-perm those roots as Roxy Live will once again welcome some of the biggest pop stars of the 80s and all for a good cause too!

On Sunday 19th October Roxy Disco’s former home, the now named O2 Academy, will be transformed back to the glory days and host an epic pop extravaganza that will have you revelling in your ra-ra skirts and tie-dye. Stars from the decade will own the stage once again including the incredible Sonia, Jaki Graham, T’Pau, Black Lace, Hazell Dean as well as the one and only Pat Sharp (unfortunately now minus the mullet!).

Home-grown and the still Rotherham based Jive Bunny and the Mastermixers who had a trio of number ones will also be hitting the stage alongside Doctor and The Medics and Nathan Moore of Brother’s Beyond fame, while Hallam FM’s drive time presenter, Steve White will be interviewing the artists and party goers. And if that’s not ‘alright fyuzs’ there are some huge surprises planned which will be revealed on the night!

Supported by Feel the Force, the gig aims to raise money for Rain Rescue, a Rotherham based organisation that helps pets in crisis all across South Yorkshire.

We know you’ve been dying for an excuse to dance like no one’s watching to the classic pop songs that sound tracked your youth – and now you can do it with the excuse that it’s for a good cause too – call it a free pass to perfect that Moon Walk, go for the Van Halen Jump and if you’re really letting loose, go BIG and hit the ultimate dance move – The Worm!

Spread the word – just as Jive Bunny says “Let’s Party!”

Tickets are £25.00 and on sale now, to buy go to http://www.o2academysheffield.co.uk/event/66514/roxy-live-in-aid-of-rain-rescue--tickets or call 0844 477 2000.
