The Bluefields

at The Greystones

Saturday 6th April 2013

Show 8pm - Doors 7.30pm

Nashville supergroup featuring....

Warner E Hodges (Jason and the Scorchers)

Dan Baird (Georgia Satellites)

Joe Blanton (Royal Court of China)

The Bluefields are an American rock band from Nashville, Tennessee. Their rock and roll story might be as pure and simple as the prior statement if it weren’t for the fact that the combined band members’ resumes boast platinum record success, a Grammy nomination, an Americana Hall of Fame Lifetime Achievement Award and song authorships that have become iconic, rock and roll standards, making this band far from simple.

Comprised of rock veterans, Warner E. Hodges on lead guitar and vocals (Jason and the Scorchers), Dan Baird on bass, guitars and vocals (Georgia Satellites) and Joe Blanton on lead vocals and guitar (Royal Court of China), these southern bred rockers remind you why you love rock and roll in the first damn place!

The Bluefields released their debut album "Pure" on May 15, 2012. The self-produced offering contains 13 tracks written and rendered with the heads, hands and hearts of Hodges, Blanton and Baird in their secret hideout, The Underground Treehouse.

In many ways, the story of The Bluefields is like that of a perfect storm…“an act of God,” if you will. In an unpredictable world, it seems somehow perfectly logical that these guys should meet, that they should form a band, convene in an underground tree house, create stellar music and inevitably turn out a brand of rock and roll that could not have been prevented by the exercise of foresight and caution and for which no one can be held responsible.

Hot on the heels of Jason and the Scorchers 30th Anniversary tour and Dan Baird and Homemade Sin's epic European trek, catch this Nashville supergroup live in this cracking, intimate, sweaty, rock 'n' roll monster of a venue. This is the band's first UK tour, you would be crazy to miss this!

Tickets are £12.50 adv

Well with a fabulous Farmer Jason show under the belt this week (get your kids, grandkids, nieces, nephews, friends or whatever and come down next time, it is a joy), I am really looking forward to several of Jason's Nashville compadres riding into town on Saturday 6th April. This time the aim is to rock!

The Bluefields are here live on their debut UK tour at The Greystones. It's a Saturday night and you know what, if you're thinking about it, even a bit, get your tickets! This will be a show you will be talking about for a long time. The band is receiving rave reviews from their tour around Spain as we speak. Tickets are £12.50. Yep, no kidding, £12.50 for a Nashville supergroup, I mean c'mon, this is Warner E Hodges and Dan Baird...

If that kick-ass brand of Americana is not your thing, then the website is now updated with the majority of the gigs for the remainder of the year and we're talking Bruce Molsky, Grace Petrie, Something Nasty in the Woodshed, Andy Irvine and Dick Gaughan... Stellar talent and right here live in the critically acclaimed intimacy that is The Greystones’ Backroom.

I hope to see you at a gig soon. As ever the details are on http://www.cliffordevents.co.uk
