Has anyone uploaded a cv on these job websites?

So is it a bad idea for me to upload my cv because i might just get agency calls that just want me to sign up? -
Does it work? I thought employers would normally recieve applications instead of actually looking for people by going through cv's, so has anyone actually been contacted by an employer instead of applying to them first?
