  1. Can I just mention the Sheffield Vision Centre, based at Sheffield Hallamshire Hospital, and run by excellent Consultant Mr Mathew Edwards and his team.

The actual laser treatment / surgery is done in Sheffield so no travelling to Nottingham, Leeds or Manchester. They have state of the art equipment, know all the latest developments in eye surgery, (I had refractive lens exchange,) and an excellent aftercare service.

All the profits go to the NHS eye hospital. I get the idea that they are not allowed to advertise in the usual way so many people don't seem to know about them.

    I would happily reccommend them.

I totally agree with this. Had my surgery had the vision centre as I only truly trusted the team at the hospital with something as delicate as my eyes. I am so pleased with the results. Would like to add that they offer interest free credit finance and would highly recommend.

  2. The only time this has happened to my cat was when she got stung by a wasp. Swelled up massively but went down the next day. Worth checking out though especially if you didn't witness what caused it as it could be a number of things.

  3. Went in on a Saturday - was so busy that we got the only free table and people were coming in and having to leave because they couldn't get a seat. It's a fairly decent sized place so this was a good sign. We loved the decor, crockery and quirky table cloths. The tea was really nice and I was pleased that it was accompanied by a good old custard cream. My friends had the soup which was extremely substantial for what had been chosen as a 'light option'. I had the welsh rarebit which was really lovely. We finished off with some chocolate coca cola cake which went down very well. Will definitely visit again.

  4. Hi,

I know the owner of Finacard so I asked him about this. He said:

'The bales have not become smaller. It depends very much on the type of cardboard. Some compresses more than others. So if you get cardboard which compresses more then physically the bale will be smaller. However, the weight would be correct.'

He also said that if people want to e mail him, then with their next order he will include paper pellets or nesting material free of charge. Contact details are on the website.

  5. Early this year the shop was gutted in preperation for it been opened as a bathroom shop, work then stopped .

I noticed yesterday that there is a sign saying that it is opening as a fruit shop.

Good , its intresting that the old bargain booz shop oposite tesco opened as a fruit shop but closed after 6 weeks or so - pity as it expanded a bit in general grocery and was useful - another fruit shop has opened at the woodseats end of abbey lane .

When I last went in the Fruit Shop on Abbey Lane they told me that they are moving into what was Salvins.
