  1. I am looking for Russell Holliday who was the camera person on a school film 'Dead Easy' in ? 1972 as we are screening it at the Showroom on 25th November. If you know Russell - please get in touch via Radio Sheffield Actiondesk 0114 2675444 or post a reply on the Forum. If you prefer you can leave your details with the Action Desk at BBC Radio Sheffield (01142675444), who will pass your details on to the project officer, so he can then send out the required number of tickets.

  5. The film is part of an official DVD from the York Film Archive, so I believe it is copyrighted.

  8. I have just seen the sad news about Mick Flynn in the Sheffield Telegraph. I went to school with him 1972 - 1976 at Earl Marshal and he was such a great character with an excellent sense of humour. He brightened up our lessons and made a great comedy double act with his mate, Russell McFarlane, who every week would have us and the teachers in fits of laughter as they dressed up and did sketches at lunchtime. I often passed his bike shop over the years and realised that he was doing a job he loved and using his passion for biking to make his way through life - I bet he was still as full of fun as I remembered him as a young lad, happily disrupting our French lesson by speaking in an exaggerated 'fake' accent - he was great! So sorry that this has happened and our condolences to his family - it sounds like he grew into a special man with people who loved and respected him which is what we all hope for. Karen Marsh (Barraclough)
  9. At the moment we cannot supply this service. However, the film is one that is archived at the Yorkshire Film Archive. For a synopsis of the film or information regarding the possibility of viewing this online, check out the Yorkshire Film Archive website. That said, we would like as many ex-students and teachers to attend the screening as possible. It will be a great opportunity to reunite and share old memories!
  10. My name is Karen Marsh and I work as a volunteer on the Region On Film project based in Sheffield. We are dedicated to finding and preserving cine film for future generations and are part of the Yorkshire Film Archive. A teacher from Norfolk School in the 1970s made films featuring pupils, including a short film about joyriding in 1975 and a school trip to Glencoe in 1978. We would love to screen the films at the Showroom cinema later this year and would be inviting anyone involved to share any memories they have. So please contact me via the Sheffield Forum or phone and leave a message for me on the Actiondesk at Radio Sheffield where we are based 0114 2675444. It would be great to speak to you and hopefully meet up at a screening! Best wishes Karen Marsh
  11. Were you a pupil or member of staff at Myers Grove school in 1970/1? Do you remember a short film being made about the school for its 10th anniversary? Maybe you were in the film or knew someone who was in it. We at Region on Film; a small volunteer project that seeks to preserve and screen old cine-film from yesteryear, have uncovered this short film and will be screening it at The Showroom cinema in the 3rd/4th week of November 2008. We would like to see any ex-pupils attend the event to reunite and reminisce with old classmates and teachers. To express an interest in attending or if you have any information regarding the film or anyone who was in it, please contact the Action Desk at BBC Radio Sheffield on 01142675444. Admission will be by ticket only. Please pass this message on to anyone you know who may have attended Myers Grove School at this time.
