  5. Greetings everyone, Years ago my mother was treated by an excellent physician who lived at Hunter House Road, Sheffield S11. he had two sons named Noel and Leon one of whom was employed as a curator (I believe). Does anyone have any information on him or his family background? Were you treated by him? Any information would be most welcome. Thank you!
  6. Hello everyone I am currently attempting to restore my classic car to its original condition. The only problem is I don't have a garage to do the repairs. I am a qualified motor mechanic with many years experience. Is there anyone who would have the room to house my vehicle to get the repairs done? Perhaps you are someone interested in getting involved in a car renovation project to further your skills or just for the fun of it? Do you know a classic car enthusiast who could help? I am willing to do a deal and desperately need assistance or advice if you have it. I would welcome any positive input from any Sheffield car enthusiasts! Thank you
  7. Greetings Chez Thank you for the information. I think I may be adding too much but never heard of a burger press! Thank you.
  8. Hello everyone I love a nice burger. I never made it as a vegetarian because the lettuce leaves were killing me. Although I am fairly good at creating the ingredients I have a problem. My burgers tend to collapse and look a mess. What do I use for a good binding ingredient for my burgers? I have being told to simply add salt and pepper and not handle the meat too much. Another solution has been to use cheese but this creates a lot of oil. Breadcrumbs tend to made the burger black and it burns too much and using egg gives the burger a white appearance when cooking. There is a Chinese woman who does cooking on TV and she used cornstarch. Can anyone solve the mystery and tell me something that actually works effectively please? In addition, any new burger recipes are very welcome. Has anyone tried a spicy burger with cumin powder? Burger experts to the rescue, please! Thank you.
  9. I used to listen to Howard Pressman and Russ Adams on Radio Sheffield. I found the programs quite interesting particulaly the "Trip down memory lane". What happened to the show? Thank you.
  10. Hi everyone In the 1980's I was a cb radio fanatic. By the way if anyone remembers me I went under the handle "Barracuda". I am wanting to return to the scene to spice up my life. Is anyone still on CB? How many channels are there now? When first legalised it was 40 on FM. I have seen rigs which emcompass now only CB but also 10 metre band. Is 10 metre band the same as 2 metre band? What are the advantages of being on 10 metre band as opposed to 2 metre band? What about 40 metre band? I heard you need a licence (don't mind I will take the exams). Is there anywhere I can learn and get my licence? How much do the exams cost? How much for a CB licence? Can someone point me in the right direction, please? Thank you
  11. Hi everyone! When it comes to choosing cars it's always a dilemma. Do I choose economy over performance or looks over practicality? I am wanting to buy either a Saab or a Volvo. Both are made in Sweden and have a reputation as being affordable and well made. Rather bland to some I agree! Which one do you think is the better option and why? Should I ditch them and go for something ugly like a Nissan of a Mazda? Any ideas? Thank you
  12. Hi everyone! Can anyone recommend a good advice centre for help with benefits? Also, there is, I believe an advice centre at Primrose Hill, Sheffield S6 but cannot seem to find it on the net? Where can I go because the last CAB place I contacted was appalling!! Thank you!
  13. Hello yellowperil My current watches are a Rolex and a Go Shock. The G Shock is the g2000 model and has been superlative. Rolex are wanting £450 just for a service! I am after a rugged, tough sports watch fit for swimming, running etc. Vostok just seemed a different choice. I am aware that the movements are made by Seiko. Thank you
  14. Hi Andy thank you for the recommendation. I must be honest and say I have never heard of the place.
  15. Can anyone suggest a prestigious venue for a black tie event? Is it just the Cutler's Hall that has the monopoly? Are there any other great places you could name in Sheffield or the surrounding region? Thank you!
  16. I am wanting to have a bespoke pair of shoes made and would like, if possible, to have them made locally (sheffield/south yorks). Do such companies exist and if so who are they? Have you ever had a pair of shoes made locally or will I have to take my business to London or Northampton? Any ideas? Thank you!
  17. Does anyone have any experience of the Vostok range of watches? I am aware that they are featured on Ideal World and apparantly have an excellent reputation. Do they rival G-Shock for reliablity? What are your views. Thank you!
  18. Hello everyone! I am wanting to nvest in a new Pen as my trusty Parker has bitten the dust after 32 years of faithful service. I am thinking of purchasing a Mont Blanc - regarded by many pen afficionado's as the finest writing instrument on the market. However, I have read that Caran D'ache of Switzerland are completely hand made, better built and guaranteed for life. Can anyone with any experience advise me? Thank you!
  19. Hi everyone. Years ago I was on BT Homehighway and they sent me the box for setting it all up. It had very little use and is in pristine condition. Before throwing it in the bin can it be used for anything else? Is it any good to a collector of old computer equipment? Any suggestions? Thank you
  20. Greetings everyone! My mother has managed to get through 3 kindles in the space of 3 years. She reads a lot. Although the Kindle is very good I do not find it very reliable in many ways. Are there any good alternatives to the Kindle? Has anyone tried them? Is the Kindle still the best of the bunch? Any ideas? Thank you
  21. Thank you the replies. Does it work in all browsers? Answer: I don't know I only run Firefox but believe it's something to do with IE. I know this because when I check the programs running IE displays a link. Here are a list of programs I have used: Farbar Service Scanner Minitoolbox Malwarebytes Anti-Malware rKill.exe Malwarebytes Anti-Rootkit Temp File Cleaner (TFC) AdwCleaner Junkware Removal Tool Sophos Free Virus Removal Tool Does the music/ads only run when online? Answer: YES Thank you
  22. Greeings everyone! I am running windows 7 and for the last few weeks have been bombarded with adverts running in the background. Please note this is AUDIO noise coming from the speakers. Although I have ran various programs I cannot remove the problem. Does anyone have any ideas please because it's driving me crazy!! Many thanks.
  23. Greetings to all! Ouija boards, ghosts, ghouls and the occult seem to hold a fascination over many people. To some they are frightening. Has anything happened to you in your lifetime that was an incredible coincidence, something you could not explain or the product of the occult? Please post your views as I am interested to know! Thank you
  24. Greetings everyone! I am wanting to try my hand at fly fishing and finally getting down to doing something about it as opposed to thinking about it. Can anyone recommend any good places to fish? There are a few in Sheffield but Derbyshire seems to be the place. Any fisherman out there with stories to tell of 14lb rainbow trout that nearly pulled them over the boat please let's have them!!! Dam Flask? I know it is stocked with trout but is is any good for fly fishing? Please let me know your thoughts! Thank you.
