to get rid of grease/grime 1-2 inch thick..no bull sh*T i use...1 gallon bucket plastic,some cheepo wall paper glue.and costic soda.put water in plastic bucket add wall paper glue until thick.add costic soda..paint on grime/grease.leave over night wash off and the grime/grease as gone..and its cheap............

As Smithy says, abrasive paper but if there's a lot of old paint, you may be as well using Nitromors to get rid of the paint to start with (should save a lot of scraping/ rubbing down)..

 

There used to be some coach paint called Tekaloid that could be brushed on, it's quite thick but put the tin in a bowl of very hot water and it will be easier to apply, there will be hardly a brush mark at all if you apply it this way (if it can still be bought!!)

not a car but i was wondfering if someone could give me some advice on an old tractor i am gonna start to do up in the next few months. mechanical stuff i am fine with and will work things out but the paint side of things ive never done before.

before repainting obviousley the old paint/rust/and grime has to come off, what would be the best way to go about doing this with general equipment. is there a cheap way of doing it that doesnt involve going out and buying a blasting kit or something similar.

 

any advice or suggestions welcome.

and it you get stuck with any thing to with your tractor..my mate has loads of advice to offer you his tractors are from..1905 and lives in stocksbridge..also makes his own parts..............

i think the old prams that was slung in the canal was used for carring torpedos to the boats at one time as the enviroment clamped down on them for using wheel barrows...i think that was a law the council made back in 1943.some one on sf may know......the exact date.some time in june i think

take it to council tip...but once i took a chest freezer to deepcar tip they would not take it..i had to take it back home.i took the lid off.took that to the tip..and used the body of the freezer to burn rubbish in it...after a few months ..a scrapman..nicked it...
