My heart goes out to everyone who experienced having their baby’s taken away from them. Nobody should have to go through what you endured in these mother and baby homes 😢😢 I am so pleased to hear you are in touch with your baby and have a good relationship, it gives me hope. I just wandered how you found each other? I would love to find my sister but don’t know where to start? I tried to search for her many years ago but no success. All I know is my mum had a baby girl who she called Amanda Jane Madin. Mum was sent to St Agatha’s where she had to care for her baby for six weeks before she was forced to give her up for adoption. Hi, I originally registered on this site in 2004 and no longer have the same email address, I have re registered now with the hope of finding my sister. The post above was my original post. My mum was sent to St Agatha’s mother and baby home in 1968, after giving birth to my sister, she had to look after her for six weeks before being forced to give her up for adoption. She named her Amanda Jane Madin. If you are out there Amanda or if anyone has any information to share, please get in touch. Many thanks Lisa
