  1. Hi Sheffield Forum I wanted to make a post on here about Food Works! Everyone is welcome at both our Community Cafes and our Marketplace with both being being pay-what-you-can afford (there is a minimum contribution of £1) For context Food Works is a Sheffield based organisation that every year takes hundreds of tons of surplus food from supermarkets, farms and other food providers and makes sure that it does not get wasted! The food that we collect is cooked up into delicious lunch service at our two cafes, one in Sharrow, the other in Upperthorpe. All the food that isn't served on the day is frozen into our Just Meals that are delivered all across Sheffield to our partner hubs. We also run a marketplace from surplus food at our warehouse in Handsworth. In the Market you can do a grocery shop which is also pay-what-you-can-afford. More information about all our locations and Partner Hubs here: https://thefoodworks.org/locations/ Everything that Food Works does is made possible by our volunteers. We have volunteers who drive, volunteers in our warehouse, our cafes and also at our farm where we are demonstrating the value of growing food on a local level. We are always looking for more volunteers across all our sites and roles. It is a great way to develop new skills, meet people and also be part of changing our food system for the better! At the moment we are particularly looking for volunteer drivers and especially on weekends. If driving or any of our other roles sound like your kind of thing please do visit: https://thefoodworks.org/volunteer/ Let me know if you have any questions. (I hope I have posted this in an alright subforum).
