Kelham Island

Beamish - we have received a photograph at Kelham Island Museum addressed to 'Beamish' Kel Island Museum, with no note or letter as to who has sent it and why. The photo is of an old Victorian? couple and simply says on the back Joan Slaters ( Sturgeon Grandparents. It is wrapped in an A4 sheet of paper with 'lost property' written on it. Does any of this ring a bell with you? We would like to get this back to its rightful owner. If anyone knows anything about this photo, who these people are and why you think Kelham Island Museum would be interested in them, please let me know. Sheffield Museums are unable to accept donations in this way without prior agreement, information to satisfy our collecting policy - primarily a connection to Sheffield (and in the case of Kelham - specifically industrial), an agreement at an acquisitions meeting and completion of an object deposit form by the donor.
