A high-energy, feel-good musical powered by young rock talent
Ellesmere Musical Theatre Company brings School of Rock to the Montgomery Theatre in this roof-raising amateur production packed with big riffs, big laughs, and even bigger heart.
Based on the hit Paramount movie written by Mike White, this award-winning musical features music by Andrew Lloyd Webber, a book by Julian Fellowes, and lyrics by Glenn Slater.
What’s the story?
Wannabe rock star Dewey Finn has failed at just about everything — until he poses as a substitute teacher at a prestigious prep school.
What starts as a con soon becomes a revelation. As Dewey introduces his straight-A students (and their parents) to the power of rock music, he unexpectedly finds purpose, romance, and a place where he belongs.
The show is famously brought to life by its young company of musicians, who play their instruments live on stage — delivering jaw-dropping talent alongside infectious energy.
