Highway Child – Saturday 5th July 2025 – 2pm to 4.30pm
Highway Child are a soul and funk reviews/covers band from Sheffield. Formed in 2004, the band has become a mainstay of the Yorkshire music scene over the past 21 years, playing many festivals and gigs across the region and the UK. They’ve headlined the Tramlines Fringe Main Stage, Y Not Festival, Barrow Hill Rail Ale and the prestigious Festival Too in Kings Lynn. Boasting a classic rhythm section and a four-piece brass ensemble, the band’s sound is as big and as polished as the songs they play – a band not to be missed if you love soul, funk, blues and having a good time!
Langsett Dance Orchestra – Sunday 6th July 2025 – 2pm to 4pm
Sheffield’s very own big band. Foot stomping, toe-tapping songs to swing your thing to. Featuring special guest vocalists, and possibly one of the biggest ensembles to perform at Leopold Square.

Funhouse Comedy brings an outstanding day of comedy to the covered beer garden stage at The New Barrack Tavern, Sheffield on Sunday July 6th with its Edinburgh Festival Preview All-Dayer.
2.00pm – Josh Elton – Away With The Fairies
Josh Elton’s brand of barnstorming comedy is the perfect show to start the day. Razor-sharp jokes, unshakeable confidence and an award-winning comedy mind. A Welshman, a Jew and a damn fine comedian, Josh Elton takes a sidewise look at life, the universe and why Swansea is a bit rough. ‘Rocks every show’ (Ignacio Lopez). ‘Really really funny’ (David Baddiel). Winner: Welsh Unsigned Stand-Up Award.
3.25pm – Ollie Horn: Bet I Can Make You Laugh
A funny show, guaranteed. This show is a trial of routines for my 2026 tour and even though this will be new material, I’ll still promise a really funny show. Wanna bet? You wager £10 and give me 50 minutes to make you properly belly laugh. If not, double your money back in cash. 2024 Best Reviewed Show list. 2024 ISH Comedy Award nominee. 2024 British Comedy Guide Recommended. 2025 Best of Edinburgh Fest Australia Cast. ‘Howling laughter’ ***** (TheWeeReview.com). ‘It’s impossible not to like Ollie Horn’ ***** (MumbleComedy.net).
4.50pm – Phil Nichol
Multi-talented award winning comedian, an acclaimed actor, producer, presenter, writer and musician who has also made various appearances on Radio and TV. Bursting with fun and frivolity, he loves to break boundaries and try something whilst enjoying a wonderfully hilarious mix of ridiculous rants, on practically every farcical subject conceivable. Audiences are always fascinated by his magnetic persona.
6.15pm – Raul Kohli: Makes It Up As He Goes Along
Raul Kohli returns for a fifth year with his sell-out cult hit! No material, no plan, no sad bit at the 45th minute where his pet chinchilla dies… Just one hour of straight improvised comedy based on what the crowd tell him. ***** (Guardian).
7.30pm – Jake Donaldson is the Fifth Weezer
Brand new stand-up comedy from 2024 BBC New Comedy Award finalist Jake Donaldson, packed with nostalgia, punchy jokes and stories about finding your place in the world. All set to the soundtrack of the 2000s. ‘Phenomenal’ ***** (@edfringecomedy, X). ‘Truly brilliant humour’ **** (NorthWestEnd.co.uk). ‘A fibrous hour’ **** (@EdinburghEye).
8.45pm – Peter Edge
Peter has been doing stand-up comedy since retiring from a thirty year police career and then completing a course with the Liverpool Comedy Trust in late 2018. Since then he’s gigged all over the country, from Leeds to Llanelli, from Barrow to Bristol….and beyond, sharing the stage with many top acts, and entertaining audiences with his ’embattled Dad of daughters’ humour.
