Funhouse Comedy Club, which already runs successful nights at numerous venues across the country, is excited to announce the launch of a brand new comedy night at Department, Sheffield on Saturday June 7th.
Funhouse clubs are renowned for having exceptionally friendly audiences and a brilliant atmosphere, which have led to twice winning Best Midlands Comedy Club awards with leading comedy website Chortle. Previous acts to have played its clubs on their road to the top include Sarah Millican, Joe Lycett, James Acaster and Rhod Gilbert, who described the clubs as “among the best anywhere in the world.”
Topping the bill is the effortlessly engaging Dominic Woodward, telling hilarious stories about his everyday life and bringing to life the quirky people he meets. His insightful humorous observations and sharp material are delivered with a somewhat relaxed air.
Opening the night will be the cheeky and cheerful Eddy Midgley with his relatable storytelling and fast moving set.
Also appearing is the self-deprecating Norwegian comic Henning Nilsen, bringing tales from his homeland.
Completing the line-up will be the bubbly Julie Metcalfe with her views of life as an older person.
Compere for the night is the very funny and highly talented Patrick Draper, who you may recognise from the Wickes adverts, he took the comedy world by storm after winning a string of new act competitions, with his deadpan delivery, witty one-liners, killer punch lines and ridiculous short stories.
