    Looking at this proposed map. (im not being thick) their planning to use the woodhead route? Which parts of the lines around sheffield are still in use? the line will be electrified. It says that its being used for frieght, it might just be too tempting to reinstate passenger services once the lines exist again. With the electrification of the line, that might lead the way in making Sheffield station to become electrifieid. Hence making Sheffield a tributary to the East coast main line in a similar way that Manchester and Liverpool are on the West.
