Does anyone remember Pete Waterman and Michaela Strachan doing the hitman and her at Roxy's?? I remember watching it on tv as I was too young to go to Roxy's then..

i was there that night me and my mate jo our hair was massive and we had our white leggings on with our midriffs showing it was fab

i went to roxys from 1986 to 1996 we lived in that place. and we were only 16 if you were female they would let you in at any age.does any one remember dancing to aint no mountain high enough .we all stood in a row doing the same old dance really bizarre.and then at josies you did new york dance.

i remember farrers fair coming to high green on the spare land behind the health centre its a housing estate now .it was the late 70s it was brill there was the octipuss and the speedway and the waltzers but the best thing was that mark farrah was in our class and he got us free tickets .the music was so loud and fantastic what a atmosphere.

I used to get a 5p mix - Mojos, Black Jack, Fruit Salad, Drum Stick Lolly, Flying saucer, cola bottles, bazooka joe

 

My chocolate favourite was Texan ...hated caramac though

 

I also remember some little chocolate button type things in a white packet with a giraffe on ..no idea what they were called but they were great ....and some sweets in a cardboard packet called pick pockets.

pick pockets pickapicka pocket all you've got to do is help yourself to ipickpockets.i remember the damn advert but not the sweets .

When i was younger a lot of the older kids who lived at High Green used to go into the woods at Grenoside and walk up to a "Haunted Hospital". i am wondering if any one has been and what it was like.

i come from high green and we used to go to the old hospital i was only about 7 and my sisters were teenagers they said that it was a old mental hospital and that it was haunted i used to have nightmares about it.

I live at high green and i remember whitsuntide very clearly .I have got 4 sisters we all got new clothes all matching, it was the 70s, i remember we once got blue and white spotty dresses and a nylon tie coat mmmm even our mum had one , we all had different colours mine was red .we used to wait for the band to go past our house and then we would follow it with all the kids on our street,we would walk down the bottom of our village to our fields behind the scout hut were there would be a gala,it was fantastic we would be excited the night before.we didnt just get new clothes we got new underwear ,socks and shoes and ribbons for our hair.it is a lovely childhood memory when did people stop doing it?
