  1. i agree there should be a time limit for setting them off.

    There is.

    The 2003 Act

Main Points of the Act and the resulting regulations:

Set a curfew on the use of fireworks, banning them between the hours of 11.00pm and 7.00am except except for Bonfire Night (midnight), Diwali, New Year, and Chinese New Year (1.00am)

Banned shop sales of fireworks louder than 120 decibels.

Created an offence for under-18s to have them in a public place.

Made all year-round shop sales licenceable.

Limited the sale period for other retail outlets.

The Act is also an enabling act which set out a framework for more detailed regulations to appear in the future.

  2. Having worked on the crew both days this weekend, I personally think Sheffield council, South Yorkshire police, City Ambassadors and the private security section worked very well together and kept very good order of the whole event. Considering there was (I believe) 7000+ people on Dev green Sat and close to that Sun plus who knows how many 1000's in other areas of Sheffield city center.

As for the comments about "chavs" etc, any city center has problems with idiots at the weekend.

  3. Do not miss this ****ing immense american band, The Chariot. If you like Norma Jean especially come down, the vocalist is the EX N.J vocalist, the genius behind such songs as FACE:FACE and Memphis Will Be Laid To Waste.
