Cricket players wanted in South Sheffield

Sheffield Transport Cricket Club have 5 teams, 2 on Saturdays, 2 on Sundays and 1 midweek team.

In addition there is a Ladies teams and have a girls junior section U15 and U13 team and there will be an U10/11 Kwik cricket team on Fridays.

Currently playing Indoor cricket throughtout the Winter.

Cricket nets are likely to be Sundays should anyone new be wishing to join a club for some social but still competitive cricket. (Including recommencing in the game, many of our players have restarted cricket after a long gap)

Simply not making money is what I was told.

Shame how owners seem happy for sports facilities not to be used, its not the only one not in use in the South of Sheffield.

If you have the space and a place my suggestion is to post a sign and contact details where you are offering. Many companies will see if and think great idea, maybe put the cost on the sign. (Maybe offer the advertisement in lieu of goods purchased?)

Secondly if you are going through a formal planning permission sign or even temporary it might be best to employ 1 of the big 3 local firms for advertising (look at your local advertising boards for who runs them).

Many of the team are beginners to the game as we have a team on saturday and sunday in the bottom division, so standard will suit any novice.

There is no such League as Sheffield & Derbyshire League do you mean Yorkshire & Derbyshire?

Personally I don't think Abbeydale would want to lose the regular customer base they have, surely there are other facilities available closer to Rotherham?

Abbeydale seems full even on a quiet weekend, mind you having another club wanting a ground gives landlords greater chance to increase rents.

Personally not as a Rugby fan but surely Rotherham Footballl Club is a better location of Woodbourn Road?

Long serving staff? Why would they move if they are on the top of their salary in a city where its difficult to find jobs on a similar wage and in the same industry!

Barry, your parcel probably went in a blue bin.... and recycled. They have a habit of advising people to leave in Blue bins and some people don't leave the "sorry we left your parcel in the bin note"

It has been reported and would have sooner if a/ I'd realised and b/ there wasn't a charge and I could have called from my mobile.

Unfortunately they'll never be caught since it was pitch black.

Re lowest crime in South Sheffield I believe the Low Edges people also have a higher tolerance level than others in South Sheffield as they have put up with much for so long and I believe much is now unreported meaning that the stats you were told about are based on those reported only.

More to the point how has anyone got hold of one!

Watch out driving in the Low Edges area, last night kids were using something like a stinger device. Your tyres may not deflate at first but you will notice a louder than usual noise from your tyres.

Our house had damp when we moved in. I checked the guttering and it was blocked. Ask you local window cleaner to have a look next time he's up there.

I use the absorber bags but there are loads of options that just need heating up to take the moisture out.

We stopped going in for food, as parents were using it as a creche, kids running all over whilst you tried to have a meal.

Am sure we will give it a try.
