Chairboy, my cousin Peter Cowan lived off Springvale road, one of the roads off to the left, probably 2 streets down from the Congs church.

does anyone remember Mrs Read from first year juniors at Western road school

I was at Western Road school in the late 50' / early 60's.

The formidable Miss Green - at least she looked formidable to five- and six-year olds - was headmistress of the infants school and the less formidable Miss Ellis was headmistress of the juniors.

I was taught in the juniors by Miss Ambler and Mr Bellamy.

But I don't recall the names of any of the infant class teachers of the time.

hi do you remember Mrs Read in the juniors she taught there till1967 when she retired ,thats was my mum ,i was in the infants but then moved to Nether Green so wouldnt be taught by my mum
