About the Venue
Yellow Arch Studios is one of Sheffield’s most iconic and influential music spaces, set within a beautifully restored Victorian factory complex in Neepsend, at the heart of the city’s industrial regeneration. Originally built as an Edwardian nuts-and-bolts factory for the bridge and shipping industries, the building was rescued from dereliction in the mid-1990s and reopened as Yellow Arch Studios in 1997. Since then, it has become a cornerstone of Sheffield’s music scene and a rare venue where artists can write, rehearse, record, perform and film – all under one roof.
Internationally known as the birthplace of the Arctic Monkeys, Yellow Arch has hosted recording sessions for artists including Richard Hawley, Jarvis Cocker, Kylie Minogue and Duane Eddy. Later, it expanded into a fully licensed live venue, now hosting gigs, club nights, raves, open mics, private parties, weddings and corporate events. The multi-room space includes a 200-capacity performance venue, rehearsal and recording studios, a warehouse-style room, a café bar and a secluded courtyard with seating and heaters. Deeply rooted in the local community, Yellow Arch supports emerging artists, student training, and community projects, and has played a major role in the cultural revival of Kelham Island and Neepsend.
