About the Venue

The Memorial Hall is a flexible mid-sized events space located within Sheffield City Hall, right in the heart of Sheffield city centre. Opened as part of the City Hall in 1932, the Memorial Hall was originally conceived as part of a civic memorial to those who died in the First World War and remains one of the building’s most characterful and adaptable rooms.

With a seating capacity of around 500, the Memorial Hall is ideally suited to concerts, comedy, talks, screenings, conferences and community events. Its excellent sightlines, good acoustics and intimate scale make it particularly popular for spoken-word performances, classical and chamber music, and smaller touring shows that benefit from a closer audience connection. The hall forms part of Sheffield City Hall’s suite of venues, all housed within the landmark Grade II* listed building overlooking Barker’s Pool.
