Dragonfly Cancer Trust is a national charity dedicated to supporting young patients with a life-liming cancer diagnosis to make special memories with their loved ones. This year, we’re inviting all primary schools in Sheffield to join us in a special fundraising event on World Book Day.
Event Details: Schools have the freedom to choose how they wish to fundraise on the day, whether it’s by having students come to school in fancy dress as their favourite book characters, organising a read-a-thon, or creating any other fun and engaging activity!
Exciting News!: Emily-Jane Clark: The author of the Knobbly Bottom collection will be visiting the winning school to present her signed books and bookmarks during a school assembly. She will meet the pupils and have a chat with them.
Al Murphy: Author and illustrator of Kitchen Disco, Bathroom Boogie and Veg Patch Party will send the winning school a collection of his signed books and a pre-recorded personal video message.
David Walliams: Has provided a collection of signed books and is keen to visit the winning school to present his books and meet the pupils. Dates are being confirmed.
The top three schools that raise the most funds will win one of the above prizes. We will confirm which author will visit the schools that come 1st, 2nd, and 3rd as soon as we can. All participating schools will receive a special certificate to acknowledge their fundraising efforts. Once a school has signed up, they will receive a special video message from the author Emily-Jane Clark to get the pupils all excited for the big fundraising event!
If you wish to join this exciting event, please email me at [email protected] with your school name as soon as possible.
We encourage all participating schools to get creative with their fundraising efforts.
Thank you for your support, and we look forward to seeing the wonderful activities your school comes up with.
