BIOBLITZ AT WARDSEND CEMETERY Tuesday 11th August, 11am - 3pm FREE FAMILY EVENT for Nature Enthusiasts
'Bio’ means ‘life’ and ‘Blitz’ means ‘to do something quickly’. Together they make ‘BioBlitz’, a collaborative race against the clock to discover as many species of plants, animals and fungi as possible within 24 hours!
Join in and help find as many critters, crawlies and creatures we can, before the clock runs out.
Free guided nature walks and family activities at stalls will be running throughout the day including flower crowns, river dipping, mini-beast safaris, marvellous moths, and much more!
For ages 3 years and up!
Where to find us: Wardsend Cemetery, Livesey Street, Sheffield, S62ET (click here for google maps pin).
Access: Please note access to Wardsend is up a flight of stairs and there are many steep paths in the cemetery. An accessible portaloo is at the event. For more access info please contact the team at [email protected].
Food & Refreshments: Gilly's Coffee Rover will be at the event serving hot drinks and snacks Families are welcome to bring a picnic and borrow a picnic blanket for lunch.
Parking: Please avoid parking at the cemetery. Free On-street parking along Club Mill Road is available, with free overspill parking at Owlerton Stadium, a short walk up Club Mill Road.
