Fawlty Towers – The Play (Sheffield Lyceum)The West End smash-hit comedy checks in to Sheffield
One of Britain’s most beloved sitcoms comes roaring back to life on stage as Fawlty Towers arrives at the Lyceum Theatre in Sheffield in this brand-new theatrical adaptation.
Adapted by comedy legend John Cleese and directed by Caroline Jay Ranger, Fawlty Towers – The Play is fresh from a sold-out, record-breaking West End run, where it played to universal acclaim.
All your favourite moments — live on stage
Nearly 50 years after it first appeared on television, the “greatest British sitcom of all time” (Radio Times) is reimagined for the theatre, bringing together iconic scenes and characters from all twelve original episodes.
Expect:
Razor-sharp wit and classic farce
Doors slamming, tempers flaring, and chaos escalating
The unforgettable world of Torquay’s most disastrous hotel
The production stars Danny Bayne as the permanently enraged Basil Fawlty and Joanne Clifton as the ever-resourceful Polly, joined by Paul Nicholas as the delightfully bumbling Major, alongside an 18-strong cast.
Why this show is unmissable
This is not a tribute or a rehash — it’s an official stage adaptation created by the original co-creator himself, designed to capture the anarchic energy, impeccable timing and laugh-out-loud moments that made Fawlty Towers a cultural phenomenon.
Whether you know every line by heart or are discovering it for the first time, this is a theatrical “staycation” packed with comedy gold.

Park Hill Tour - Walk the Streets in the SkyThis event began 04/04/26 and repeats every week on Saturday until 29/08/26
Park Hill has been a visible landmark on the Sheffield skyline for over 60 years. It is considered of international importance due to being the first built example of external access decks (known as Streets in the Sky) and was awarded Grade II* listing in 1998. There followed a regeneration scheme, the first phase being shortlisted for the Stirling prize for architecture in 2013, which continues today. It is also culturally prominent, having featured in film, tv, music, artworks and on stage.
Join a resident-led 90 minute tour to walk the Streets in the Sky. Your guide will take you through the history of Park Hill, exploring the inspirations behind its design as well as its architectural concepts and distinctive details. Along the way, you’ll hear about the people who played a part in its story and gain insight into what life here is like today. There will also be an opportunity to see inside a renovated flat. A spring or summer visit is the perfect time to see our gardens in bloom and to take in the spectacular views over the city and into the countryside beyond.
