Join silversmith Charlotte Tollyfield at Yorkshire Artspace, Persistence Works for a 2 day hands-on smithing skills workshop!
Learn the specialist silversmithing art of hand raising and create a beautiful hanging planter using traditional hammer techniques to raise a copper bowl. You will then make a chain cradle from which to hang your bowl, before planting it up ready to take home and display. This in-person event is a great introduction for beginners and perfect practice for those wanting to increase their skill. Over the course of each day Charlotte will lead you through every step of the process and support you in your making. At the end of the two days you’ll take your beautiful piece away with you to proudly display at home or gift to someone special.
The course spans two days, 9:30am – 5pm each day, Saturday 21st June & Sunday 22nd June 2025.

Delve into the rich history, uncover its celebrated and hidden architectural gems, and gain a unique perspective on contemporary life within its walls with the chance to step inside a refurbished flat. A spring or summer visit is the perfect time to see our gardens in bloom and to take in the views over the city and to the countryside beyond.

Bex Pizzata – Saturday 21st June 2025 – 2pm to 4.30pm
Bex has been recording, writing and performing for over 25 years. With a four-piece band, she covers old school and modern blues, soul and country classics. Bex has worked with artists such as Muse, Josh Groban, Sheridan Smith, Michael Ball and Alfie Boe. She has performed at The Royal Albert Hall, The O2, Manchester Arena, BST Hyde Park and the world-famous Ronnie Scott’s Jazz Club, as well as on Jools Holland, X factor, The Jonathan Ross Show and The One Show.
Carioca Soul – Sunday 22nd June 2025 – 2pm to 4pm
After supporting bands such as The Corrs and Jools Holland at the Royal Albert Hall and having a top 40 album with the band Ten Millennia in 2018, pianist/musical director and composer Wayne Pollock has a new project – Carioca Soul who released their debut EP in August 2021. Inspired by the music of Sergio Mendes and Brasil 66, the band perform an eclectic mix of Bossa Nova/Samba, and contemporary Brazilian music, mixed with original tunes in a melting pot of latin/funk and soul. Having already supported US Sax star Harry Allen, Carioca Soul have been performing at local festivals and jazz clubs.
