CHAIRBOY   10 #6 Posted September 22, 2007 The book I've found is by Ronald Reng. It is £10 but £6.40 on Amazon. Not sure who Lars Leese is?  http://www.amazon.co.uk/Keeper-Dreams-Incredible-Story-Goalkeeper/dp/0224064428/ref=sr_1_36/203-2117056-5531931?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1190491308&sr=1-
 Share this content via...
NPB! Â Â 10 #7 Posted September 23, 2007 If memory serves he played for them during their brief premiership spell
 Share this content via...
geocol   10 #8 Posted September 24, 2007 It's an excellent read (although a bit dated now), and describes Lars Lesse's season with Barnsley in the premiership (1997-98 ).  A chapter is devoted to fan adolation of players, and goes into detail of the lengths fans go to. Part of it refers to incidents of girls hanging round training grounds and changing rooms. More than mind blowing, if you get the gist !!!  http://www.amazon.co.uk/Keeper-Dream.../dp/0224064428  There are also some very amusing imformative stories in the clubs and pubs in the town; and at the players' Christmas party (a fancy dress affair; Ashley Ward turned up for training first in his Pink Panther outfit); as well as some almost unbelievable events within the club's set up and on the pitch.  Danny Wilson comes out of it with absoulutely no credit whatsoever. Just why Wednesday wrenched him away from them, is another question.  Read the book. It's the best £10 I've ever spent.
 Share this content via...
NEKRO138 Â Â 10 #9 Posted September 24, 2007 Lars Leese was their reserve keeper when they were in the Premier.
 Share this content via...
geocol   10 #10 Posted September 24, 2007 He started off as reserve, but after all the thrashings came into the team for the 1-0 win at Anfield, and instantly became a folk hero in the town. The book describes how both keepers were so hacked off by the way they were both treated by Danny Wilson, instead of a rivalry developing between them, they became firm friends with a mutual hatred of their manager.
