Www.'your name'.com, net, org....

Recommended Posts

When I first accessed the web a few years ago (and after the initial wide eyed burst of looking up all sorts of rubbish : favourite groups/teams/shops/porn etc etc), during a (very) bored moment I tried typing my name into the IE address bar (with www and .com either side) to see what came up.

Sure enough the site existed but was fairly dull, created by a fledgling poet/artist. Not especially famous, and not particulary interesting (to me).

Now I assumed that most people would have probably done a search for their 'own' site at some point in their surfing history. However a straw poll of 10 of my workmates found that NO ONE had ever done this and, moreover, most found it a little odd/sad that I had.

I know this probably gets classed as a particulary inane use of www, but I was curious, and was surprised that no one else had done the same.

Has anyone on here ever searched for their namesake's website (assuming you haven't created one yourself), and if so, were there any interesting results?
