boyface   10 #1 Posted November 15, 2004 Hi  Ive got an interview for an IT Support job this week, and would LOVE any advice, interview tips etc. from anybody in the know.  Its quite a low level job, but Im just not sure what they're going to ask me. If anyone wants me to send them the job add, PM me your email address, and Ill forward it on.  Im quick to pick things up and have a sound knowledge of all MS stuff, but just worried on the more technical Q's I may get asked.  Any help would be much appreciated  Cheers, K
 Share this content via...

Pete1024 Â Â 10 #3 Posted November 16, 2004 Speaking as an IT company director I would say: Â Don't act as if you know everything, if you get asked something you don't know put your hands up to it and show eagerness to learn, don't get caught out. Â Show yourself as a fast logical thinking person, not a 'ive been on a course and I know everything' type, in IT support you'll encounter things that aren't covered by books and courses, the manager needs to know that you'll be reasouceful in investigating mystery problems. nomme   10 #6 Posted November 17, 2004 Sorry - I guess it was a little obscure.  It's the 'sys admins' mantra from the newsgroup alt.sysadmin.recovery. Their FAQ is here (See 1.6 and 5.4) Actually it's quite a funny FAQ in itself.  Also if your going into IT Support you really should be aquainted with BOFH  Seriously though, Pete1024's advice is very good - heed it well.  Nomme
 Share this content via...
