smedley
On most estates they'd need their vans reinforcing by the A-team. Our ice-cream man was called 'knobnose'. Not by his parents, of course. He had a nose like the Spitting Image puppets. He was always offering you his nuts, with extra sticky sauce. Maybe that's why he hasn't been seen for a few years. cosywolf
They're still there...Manor/ Arbourthorne: plays Greensleeves, comes round in dead of winter, prob'ly isn't only selling ice cream, lol. Heeley/Meersbrook: plays Popeye, comes round every day over summer and drives the dog mad. Come to think of it, haven't seen one in Norfolk Park for a while...usually Granellis. Cosy (I really want an ice cream now...thanks a lot.)
