My PC had on-board graphics and when I installed a new graphics card the BIOS automayically used the new card. I also freed up the 80 MB used by the old on-board graphics card.

go into your bios (normally pressing a key like delete during boot up) also called setup

and looking for an option for onboard graphics (every bios is different) if its there disable it and it should use the new graphics

Thank you I will try that later. Do I install the driver disc before I fit the card?

you may not need the disc, depends if xp or vista has the driver already.

also as mod says it may automatically use the installed card so may notneed to disable, youll have to check which graphics are in use after youve installed it

Mr Chris If Ya Cant Help Then Go Away

Ah, but usually I can help. I can also use punctuation.

And I'm rather good at winding people up.

But, and come on let's face it, advertising your services in a section full of tech geeks is just asking for a few jibes!
