markyh   10 #206 Posted April 14, 2009 If Tesco want to open and invest in the area by clearing up a derelict eyesore, creating jobs and delivering quality produce at reasonable prices in these hard times then let them. So be it.  On the other hand, if they want to turn open space into ugly chrome covered with ubiquitous red white and blue branding, destroy jobs and diversity by driving out competition, and take money out of the local economy and into the hands of already minted shareholders in these hard times..... don't let them. leondz   10 #214 Posted May 19, 2009 The target determination date was yesterday - has there been any news?  Great page about it on the local council website - http://planning.sheffield.gov.uk/publicaccess/tdc/DcApplication/application_detailview.aspx?caseno=KGENFCNYFY000
 Share this content via...
Stainboy   10 #215 Posted July 1, 2009 I'm about to move right near there, the site doesn't actually look big enough to make a half decent mini supermarket out of, even if it is just a Tescos Express. I take it it's not planning to have any parking spaces or anything? But would people really drive to such a small shop? Wouldn't you just drive to the big one?  I wouldn't mind it say if it was going to provide stuff that the shop opposite the Springvale pub won't have. What else could be really needed round there? I'm not yet familiar with all the shops.
 Share this content via...
scargill   10 #216 Posted July 1, 2009 Have you noticed that amended plans have been submitted on June the 22nd/ 09, it appears among other changes that the good people at Tesco are now offering to provide a disabled parking bay, which appears very genourously to be close to or outside the convenience store opposite the Springvale pub, reducing their on street convenient parking.
