Sick of non english news

And the English are not???

Going off our news media (which is also mercifully nothing like as jingoistic and slavishly supportive of official foreign policy) significantly less so than the US.

Bizarrely, it's true. The key thing to understand about Marxists is that they should not be defined by their support for any particular economic system, but by their desire to destroy the societies of western countries. Marxists and big business are in cahoots with each other in supporting mass immigration, and big business scratches the backs of the Marxists with political donations.

Actually Marxists have become a little more refined as they've gone into middle age and we should perhaps give them their new name: neo-conservatives (yes, really, 'conservatives' - though they're not real ones of course). The Soviet Union occupied Afghanistan and now the neo-conservatives are doing so. ;)

That about getting things backwards, marxists are all about supporting a particular economic system which they believe will usher in a utopia which is amongst other things internationalist. But internationalism isn't their principle aim socialism is, internationalism is simply one of the benefits they think true socialism will bring.

Just because some old trots have turned their backs on socialism and instead become zealous supporters of capitalism and multinational corporations that doesn't redefine what Marxism is.

I'll believe you, thousands wouldn't. Must have changed since I left. Please don't compare the Sun and the Mirror with the New York Times

Even the New York Times often demonised as one of the most extreme parts of the so called elite 'liberal media' in the US was slavishly servile to the Bush administration in building support for the war in Iraq.

Just compare CNN or Fox News to BBC News 24 and tell me again that the UK is as insular as the US.

The term insular means of an island. Some big old island we've got here. The place everybody came to to escape the excesses of Europe, and they are still coming, legally or otherwise. If you mean isolationist as against insular will agree with you in a minute. but in many ways you can hardly blame them. I never watch Fox News or read anything involved with Rupert Murdoch. I can read the EPL scores in the NY times. I tried to find one paper that carried anything about the world series in a British paper when I was over during the playoffs. I did not succeed.
