There is a thread here that has a bit of info:

http://www.sheffieldforum.co.uk/showthread.php?t=155627

And more specifically:

http://www.doggiepubs.org.uk/index.php?29=on&columns=1&printview=no&go=+Show+Counties+&supporters=new

As a general rule many non-'foodie' ale houses allow well behaved dogs.

Plenty of old dogs in the Little John!!

As far as I know the Derwent in Bamford allows em in as well. Not sure about the Anglers, as the current landlord won't even let locals in, never mind dogs!!!!

what a great idea- Ive often wondered what the pubs do with the end bits of meat joints from their carvery- Im not much of a meat eater and always bring my portion back home for 'Nellie.

Once we went to a nice pub in Huddersfield at about 6pm on a Sunday. The carvery had just finished, and the chef came out of the kitchen and asked us "does your dog eat meat?" (err :loopy:) and came back out with literally a full carrier bag of beef, gammon & turkey offcuts! It smelled so good I had to keep my OH from stealing it from the dog! All that meat lasted him all week mixed with his dinners. We will definitely be going back there again! :D
